6 habits of happy people I admire

If you’ve noticed my last few posts, all of them talk about Happiness and I guess it is because I’m in a journey of discovering the true meaning of being happy.

My previous posts: Happiness – A Priceless Possession - JULY 21, 2014 Happiness and Success are two different things - AUGUST 5, 2014

In this post, I want to share 6 habits of those people who are cheerful all the time.

1. Attitude of Gratitude

Happy people always carry an attitude of gratitude. They never miss out on any opportunity to express their joy and thankfulness to others who add value to their life.

In fact, they show gratitude even to those who’ve let them down, discouraged them or taken advantage of them and that is because they’ve learned that even the negative people in our life help us in pushing our limits to achieve greatness.

2. Cultivate Optimism

Given the fact that life can never be an easy ride and it comes with victories as well as challenges, challenges that have the potential to knock you down and derail you from your purpose.

Happy people always cultivate an optimistic attitude in the midst of challenges and impossible situations because they know that feeling depressed or miserable won’t get them anywhere. Instead, it will simply hinder them from growing, changing and fulfilling their purpose.

They always think of the good that can come out of every situation in life.

3. Practice Kindness

As we know, the world is full of people in need of love, help, appreciation, encouragement and so on. Kevin Heath said “Whenever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference” Happy people go beyond their ability to show kindness whenever they find an opportunity.

Always remember when we feel love and kindness towards others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for but it also helps us to develop inner happiness and peace.

4. Nurture True Relationships

Happy people understand the importance of healthy relationships and invest their time in nurturing them. They have realized that at the end of their lives it is only the closeness of their near and dear ones that will bring a smile to their face.

5. Commit to meaningful goals

A life without a goal is absolutely meaningless because it neither helps you grow in life nor does it add value to others. Happy people always set meaningful goals and commit themselves to fulfilling them because they know setting goals are the first step in turning the invisible into visible.

6. Savor life’s little pleasures Like I said in one of my previous post “It is often the simple things in life that leave lasting memories”. The joy of watching my children start to walk, the joy of watching them speak the first few words, the joy of enjoying the first rain drops, the joy of just waking up alongside your partner for life etc.

Happy people always savor life’s little pleasures.

As I conclude all I want to say is let’s develop these habits in our own lives and join the wagon of ‘Happy people’.
